Carolyn H. moved out of her apartment two months ago. She was a good tenant. She was current with her rent and cleaned her apartment when she moved out. Carolyn mailed a letter by certified and regular mail to the landlord that asked him to forward her the $900.00 security deposit plus interest to her at her new address. Although the landlord signed for the certified letter he had not responded to Carolyn's request. She called the landlord several times but he never returned her calls. Carolyn had to borrow money to pay the security deposit on her new apartment, so she really needs the $900.00. Carolyn would like an attorney to help her get the security deposit back.
Roger M. has been separated from his wife for eight years. They don't have any children or property. Roger, who's only income is social security disability, is ready to file for divorce. He believes that his wife lives in New York but he is not certain whether she is still at the last address he has for her. Roger has been unable to file the case pro se. Roger would like an attorney to help him finally get divorced.
Sara is 58 years old. She had a stroke two years ago. She worked in a manufacturing plant for twenty five years prior to having the stroke. Her physical condition has improved slightly since her illness but she cannot stand for long periods of time, gets easily confused and overwhelmed and takes medication. She sees a physician "when she can." She applied for Social Security Disability but was denied because it was determined that she was able to return to the work force. She would like assistance in appealing the denial of her application for Social Security Disability.
